You never quite know if something is going to be as good as it looks. This piece of gorgeousness just blew me away. The brief must have been, “I don’t care what the cost is, it’s got to be a work of art”.
It is reassuringly heavy, works beautifully and the hidden needles are a work of genius. It tamps with or without the tamping ring and the design means the tamper will always tamp the coffee perfectly horizontal.
I absolutely love it.
Dosing ring cannot fit right into the tamper

Overall very pleased with this. It saves space and it’s neatly organized. It feels very well made and the parts fit together nicely. I like that I can tamp with the dosing funnel on and the base of the tamper form-fits to the shape and angle of the funnel. However, tamping without the funnel increases chances of tamping at a slight incline if not perfectly centered and aligned with the basket, which makes it less ideal to use as a standalone tamper. This means it’s almost necessary to be used with the funnel. This isn’t a huge deal but it does mean that the funnel is an essential part of this system. It would be nice if they just included 0.35mm needles instead of two different sizes. It would also be nice if they could find a way to have the funnel store more securely with the rest of the tamper. As it sits today, the funnel sort of just hangs out and dangles around the tamper making it seam less integrated to the system. The rest of the system is nicely integrated and it would be nice if the funnel sat more securely onto the rest of the tamper when storing. The tamper itself is very satisfying to use. Requires no effort and does a great job tamping with its satisfying click-punch. For its price this is a good value overall and I’m very much enjoying using it.
I bought this tamper to improve my workflow. I have a few very well known tampers, a magnetic funnel, and a WDT tool however this tamper and it’s 3 in one capability is such a game changer for my routine. I used to need 3 dedicated spots to store these tools, and now I only need one. I really like that I can tamp without having to remove the funnel. I know the organization and usage of these tools sounds like something insignificant, but it really makes a big impact for me. The build quality, functionality, ease of use, tidiness, and improvement over my previous setup makes using this 3 in 1 tamper well worth it for me. I actually look forward to the puck prep knowing that I will be able to use this each morning!
