How It All Started
We are a group of long-time friends who first connected in the technology club at university. While only one of us was initially a coffee enthusiast, the rest of us had a more bitter impression of coffee. That all changed when our coffee-loving friend took us to an amazing specialty coffee shop – it completely transformed our perception of coffee. We were amazed to discover that coffee could be so flavorful and enjoyable, not just bitter. Our initial delight soon blossomed into a deep, shared passion for exploring the world of specialty coffee, and eventually planted a seed of our brand.
After graduating, we gained valuable engineering experience and technical expertise working at large companies, but we never lost our shared love of coffee and technology.
One day, an idea struck us – why not combine our passions and expertise to make a positive impact? We wanted to help coffee enthusiasts like ourselves brew and enjoy coffee better, while also lowering the barriers of specialty coffee for others, aspiring to replicate the joy and magic that first drew us in.
We then created the BOOKOO brand. The name “BOOKOO” in our language means “not bitter” – reflecting our mission to help everyone make and savor delicious coffee. From starting with a few coffee gadgets, we’re now dedicated to driving innovation in the coffee industry and sharing the wonders of specialty coffee with the world.
